Description: |
This course is an introduction to the characteristics of school-age exceptional learners and their education. Emphasis will be placed on the Educational Assistant's role in supporting all student populations and their diverse needs. Specifically the course will discuss the history of education for students who have diverse needs and/or come from a variety of cultural/religious backgrounds. Strategies to promote inclusion and the right to an education that meets individual needs will be discussed from the educational assistant perspective.
